Fernweh iOS 26 Update: Now Available
We're thrilled to announce that Fernweh is among the first apps ready for iOS 26, bringing you Apple's revolutionary liquid glass design language along with powerful new AI-driven features. This update represents our biggest leap forward in making road trip planning more intuitive, intelligent, and beautiful than ever before.
✨ Liquid Glass Design - A Revolutionary Visual Experience
Apple's liquid glass design language transforms how you interact with Fernweh. The new interface features fluid, translucent elements that adapt beautifully to your content, creating an immersive experience that feels like looking through crystal-clear glass.
What's New with Liquid Glass:
- 🌊 Fluid Interfaces: Elements flow and adapt naturally as you navigate
- 💎 Translucent Layers: Content appears to float with depth and clarity
- 🗺️ Maps: Your trip overview now shows all destinations in a stunning visual layout
The liquid glass design isn't just beautiful—it's functional. The new trip overview screen displays all your planned journeys on a map, making it effortless to see your travel timeline at a glance.
🧠 Enhanced Sharing Extension - Smarter POI Discovery
Our intelligent sharing extension has been completely reimagined with iOS 26. Now when you share text or websites with Fernweh, the app automatically discovers relevant points of interest (POIs) and suggests them for your trips.
Powered by Apple Intelligence:
- 🎯 Smart Recognition: Share restaurant reviews, travel articles, or destination guides—Fernweh finds the locations
- 🧠 Apple Intelligence Integration: When enabled, get even more powerful location suggestions and trip insights
- 📍 Multiple POI Detection: A single shared article can reveal multiple destinations for your journey
- ⚡ Instant Trip Integration: Add discovered locations to existing trips with one tap
- 🌐 Universal Compatibility: Works with any text or website you can share
Whether you're browsing travel blogs, reading restaurant recommendations, or discovering hidden gems on social media, Fernweh's enhanced sharing extension turns inspiration into actionable trip plans instantly.
🤖 AI Trip Assistant - Smart Roadtrip Creation
Introducing our most requested feature: the AI Trip Assistant. This intelligent tool helps you create roadtrip foundations from simple text descriptions, giving you the perfect starting point for your adventures.
You say: "Create a short roadtrip of iconic cities in the southern nordics"
AI creates:
- 🚗 Trip Name: "Southern Nordic Cities"
- 📍 Key Stops: Stockholm, Göteborg, Oslo
- 🗺️ Route Foundation: Ready to customize with your own details
Note: The AI Trip Assistant is currently in beta, focusing on roadtrip creation with trip names and stop selection. Available only on devices with Apple Intelligence support. We're expanding its capabilities based on user feedback.
🚀 The Future of Travel Planning is Here
