Fernweh takes your privacy very seriously. It does not sell or rent your data.
The app does not use any third-party analytics or ad frameworks.
Our website (not the app) counts visits with Umami, an analytics tool we run ourselves on our own server at Hetzner. Umami sets no cookies and builds no profile of you, and no analytics data goes to a third party. The app does not use Umami.
A bug report or feature request you send from the app goes to our own server at Hetzner in Germany. It contains the text you write, the app's version and build, your device model and system version, and an email address only if you add one so that we can reply. It is kept with the pseudonymous key identifier of your device, which we use to limit how many reports a device can send per day. The text, the device details and your email address go to no third party. A report is deleted 12 months after it is sent and the email address after 90 days; copies in our backups are gone at most 60 days after that.
The app uses the HERE Maps SDK to provide enhanced mapping and location search capabilities. HERE Maps may collect certain data as described in their privacy policy at https://legal.here.com/privacy. On iOS, the app also uses the Mapbox Maps SDK and Mapbox Navigation SDK to provide interactive maps and turn-by-turn navigation. Mapbox may collect anonymous usage telemetry to improve its services; users can opt out at any time by tapping the attribution button on the map. For more information, see the Mapbox Privacy Policy at https://www.mapbox.com/legal/privacy
If you want to sync across Apple devices, it will utilize Apple's iCloud Service to sync your data based on your own storage.
